Housing and Accommodation

Specialist disability accommodation

Discuss SDA pathways and the supports that may sit around a housing decision. Specialist disability accommodation is a specific housing pathway for eligible participants with very high support needs or extreme functional impairment. It is separate from daily support services, so decisions need clear information about both the home and the support around it.

What it can include

Support with the details that matter

The right arrangement depends on your goals, the tasks involved and how you want assistance delivered. These are examples to discuss, not a fixed package.

Understanding your goals and eligibility questions

Understand the difference between housing and daily support.

Considering accessibility and support needs

Consider access features and the supports a home would require.

Confirming current options and availability

Check funding, eligibility and current vacancies with the right providers.

How we work with you

A plan that fits real life

Where support happens

We can discuss your living goals, accessibility considerations and how support might be coordinated around an SDA arrangement. Any particular dwelling or vacancy is subject to current availability and eligibility.

Before we begin

We help identify the questions to ask providers, check the fit with your plan and clarify responsibilities before any arrangement is agreed. We do not promise a vacancy or an NDIS funding decision.

Funding and fit

Clear arrangements before the first visit

NDIS funding can be self-managed, plan-managed or NDIA-managed. Tell us how your relevant supports are managed and we will confirm the proposed service and payment arrangement before work begins.

We also agree the tasks, worker match, schedule, travel arrangements and relevant costs. Where clinical care is involved, assessment and staff capability are checked before the service is confirmed.
